Ottawa is one of the best places to live here in Canada. I only have to wish to live there because we could not. The hubby’s job is in Toronto and even though the houses there are bit cheaper than in Toronto still it’s not the only thing to consider. That is, wishing against wish is a reality for Ottawa’s dream place to be. We live in survival in this city and going farther than the source of income is like a rock on the head. There are many beautiful places in Canada to live but usually we based our decision to income source.
Think how funny I am, we planned to purchase a cancer lottery. Then, I told my husband if I would win I’d like one of the car prizes. While hubby said, it should be one of the houses, and I said, what if you’re going to win a house that is far from the city. I don’t want to move there, for convenience sake. That is why moving outside Toronto is nothing but a conversation. If lucky to own one of the houses far from the City of Toronto, I would likely sale them.
We just arrived from an open house nearby my street. It was my first open house ever. No no, were not going to buy a house yet, I still have to wait forever for this dream. I was with friends, I don’t feel excited looking at the house, may be because I’m not buying one. Or, may be because the house is old, I really wanted to buy a house that is never been used by anybody. I want newly build house, clean, smell woody and paint fresh, and lots of windows. The house is big enough for family of 4, big kitchen, good lighting and expects that some of it is with signature like royal, the glow, MP and of course Seagull lighting was there. The roofing is new and with double garage. It’s funny if I’m going to buy that house. Why? Ha ha ha because I have no car to park.

I just finished my rants about poverty issues and the careless. Stop the blaming now and start anew. Its refreshing cold outside, we thought that winter is over but it’s here again. I don’t even know when to put away our cold stuff clothing because no one could tell the weather perfectly. Last summer, we had hail storm. I don’t mind having cold breeze all year round. I’m not just in to snow anymore. Yah, yah I’m in Canada so snow is possible anytime than sunny day. Whatever is the weather outside, I made my day refreshing. I had my 40 minutes walk, roasted chicken, bake chiffon cake, cooked vegetable curry and even make popsicle for my double terrible who proudly shared it to his father. What more you could ask for? Nothing, I'm contented for now. Though, keeps on dreaming for something to help me moves forward.
It’s the women who are really serious about looking fit and to be healthy fit. What are your reasons to get slim? Me, I want to fit in to my old clothes, bulging tummy is never a good sight, and I’m trying to control my weight due to genetic sugar issues. I hate myself when I could not fit to my new clothes, I do pig out foods but usually to high in fiber. I know that there are many women's diet pills out there and over the counter, these did not pushed me to enjoy eating and gain the weight and whisk it later with the help of diet pills. The battles of win-win, pills are expensive, eating is cheap and getting fat is free. Who do you think could win these battles?
It is great to know that there are at least two restaurants in Canada that is listed in S. Pellegrino World Best 100 restaurants in the world. One in Calgary and the other is in Ontario outside Toronto. It seems that the story I told to my best friends in Bangkok, that Toronto sucks when it comes to great top notch buffet is true. Don’t get me wrong, I love my City. I just miss pigging out good foods in array like buffets. My five years in Bangkok was enjoyed to the fullest that especially includes food buffets of many 5 stars hotel restaurants. I also enjoyed it in Vietnam, the Philippines and Hong Kong. It’s been 3 years now of no real buffet. We have restaurants here that offer buffets they are mostly Chinese, Indian and Thai foods.
What I mean is the type of buffet offered by Shangri-la hotel. Now you get it. In this type of buffet don’t speak about price because it’s pricy and yummy. I don’t have vices like smoking or drinking. I’m not crazy about shopping, with few occasional outings, thrifty and enjoy eating. The last time we went to Chinese buffet was forever forgotten, I don’t even remember our last time buffet. I’m sure it’s way ages ago. Oh wait, it was in September 2009. I’m still not craving for buffet in the same type of restaurant. I will just wait when I visit the Philippines.
So, tell me what is in your husband’s that he is crazy worried about? There must be one thing about your hubby’s craziness. My brother-in-law is worried of hair loss, and yes expect that he is been looking for the hair loss cures if it exist, as if there is really one out there. I don’t know what is happening to the definitions of genetic. It seems that hair worriers are overpowered by “must have hair” motto. Many are in to hair transplant though. I hope it will stay longer. On the other side of the head, my hubby is crazy of his hair, not about losing it but the feel of touch like wires. I mean, he wants it straight, fine and soft. Get real hubby dear, no one in your family got one. This was and is his craziness ever and got worse when he married me. I got the finest silky straight hair, come on let me brag about it, and his feeling got worst when our son’s borne. Why, because he got my hair. Ha ha ha.
Buying designers stuff in Bangkok particularly high end designers is you have to order and wait for ages for the stuff to enjoy. Do not think about the end of the fashion trend when the goods arrive late because designers stuff never ever lost its sparks. You must have at least 500K Baht before you can order a Hermes bag. I have promised to myself I must have watch either created by Cartier or Hermes. Just any of them and no more watch buying forever. My income in Bangkok could afford to buy one but its way stupid to spend that much during that time.
Now I’m in Canada and income is better than in Asia of course but with a hitch. I have to save and save and buy nothing for myself, except of my dream watch. I could not believe it that there are more choices of Cartier and Hermes watches in this country than in Asia. Price wise, believe me it’s unbelievable. I am talking about designers watch okay, not the copycat. Excuse me! This is one of my lifetime self- indulgences, so it must be real. Eleven years now since I first bought my 2 Guess watches, it still give me the right time and no plans to whisk them away even the presence of my new dream watch.
How friendly is your computer? Well, PC’s definitely a user’s friendly. I don’t have formal computer course, some of my friends, my family also did not, and even my double terrible son knows how to play his games on my computer. Our personal computers now are getting easier to manipulate by just click here and there, then viola! I have been watching the new computer gadgets in tablets form, mannn its sooo ahh-mazing. Oh-oh, it may make the old click the icons obsolete. Could it be possible? It might be happening because the 3D TVs are already here.
We had a good sun today, so off we went to Chinatown browsing for new sheer curtains. Mannn, we got lost, I totally missed the fabric place. I mean, there are hundreds of stores selling clothing but I particularly looked for the rolled ones. I’m bored at home and it’s also time to change our curtains. Not really for the spring cleaning just curtain changing and I planned to sew it by myself to kill time and whisking boredom. I do have pile of books to read but decorating is my theme at the moment. I just finished browsing for my direction to get to my fabric store. Jssszzz, I hope I could find what I’m looking for.
Another day but not sunny like yesterday, I pursued my plans to purchase fabrics for my curtains with my tot. It was drizzling in a busy street of one of Toronto’s tourist spots. I was disappointed again. I could not find the place. I have been searching for these curtain fabrics for two days, so off we went to little posh fabric store. There, I bought few fabrics but it’s not what I’m looking for. Better luck next time around and I must ask my best friend who knows where to come with me.
Many are now enjoying the pride of owning an iPad, I am drooling too but it’s not time yet to change my computer. When it comes to expensive electronic gadgets, I hold onto them until their last breath. Besides, my computer is for personal use, may be if I’m running my own business outside home or going to school, I should get a new computer. That is why for now. I don’t need the document scanning software either. Gee, there is no end of computer technology revolutions. What’s next after iPad and Slate of HP?

I’ve been stranded on bed for few days. It’s like hatching my pollen allergies with coughing complications. Happy are those who love the seasons of the suns and never get affected of the tiny flying particles. I definitely love the warm seasons even though it gives me harsh effects. Sick or allergies, I had to wake up and kicked my butt out of bed. I have kid and hubby to feed, and school to walk to and from. It must be funny to see me wearing mask, I should not care because people really will understand why I look like a mad woman running out from SARS. I'd rather not, so I wore a Thai silk wrapped around my neck to nose. Still looks funny under 19 degrees with gorgeous sun. It is understood that, whoever covers their noses are prune to pollen allergies. But hey, in downtown you could see some wearing mask. As in surgical mask, ha ha ha ha are you kidding me.
Oh, how I miss the days when I splurges in poster printing while in Bangkok. It’s cheaper there than here in Canada. There were so many enjoyments in Bangkok that I have never tried it here in my new found country. I miss the Thai massage and Spa, gorgeous beaches, foods and my best friends. I am glad that I brought all my mementos, posters and pretty picture frames. I never ask yet about a price of one poster printing, but common sense says, its way expensive and may be cheaper in load orders. Gracious!

Few weeks ago, I was bragging about my Aunt who loss massive weight for about a month through high fiber diet and determination to sexy slim. It is unfortunate that she had cyst operation on his right foot and clinically prison to her own abode for weeks to heal, and she uses this light illness to eat and again splurging the wonders of yummy foods against her diet regimen that she has been working on for 2 months. Yes, now she’s fat again and called her bum the bumble bee is her again. The determination to get slim and healthy is too shallow and efforts for months are wasted. What could I say? Nothing and besides she’s my dearest Aunt, anyway she promise to start all over again. Now she’s making her own roller coaster.
It is good to read newspapers and magazines in the sections of lifestyle, fashion, famous, foods, money and healthy living. Yes, many of us are enjoying foods, splurged like the world will end, then came the health conscious, the food eaters became fat who just accepted the baptism of dieting. On the next page, words of wisdom for the newly baptize, how to lose weight, diet pills, from green concoction to model body and the best fat burners. Think some different ways on how to have a healthy living. I bet your thoughts are already written. Try if it will work for you. Blah blah blah, all diet pills and exercises, they will never work to anyone if there is no “determination” of what size you want to be.
Pssssssssttttt, we had a wonderful sunny day and me walking back and forth from and to my son’s school. After school, continue my wanderings walking and proceed to the nearest mall, then bang! Suddenly, Cinderella shoes are on sale, you know Payless and its BOGO. My kind of shoe store as I am thrifty as Mr. Sam but trendy. New shoes, why hide it in the box flaunt it. I’m not this showy lady but this time I feel Cinderella.
There, I walked towards the school to pick up my tot, and then one lady noticed my new shoe. See I told you I’m thrifty and I don’t show-off. I said its Payless and BOGO. She said, I could not wear those close shoes because of my feet painful thingy, and no wonder she’s wearing open thong sandal. Well, she got all the reasons and I saw the blasting reasons as well, she got the longest nails and ingrown. Nippers, clippers and alcohol fixed this woman’s feet and I could not believe it, it seems that she did not know what is pedicure or nail clipping. Gross. She’s not a hermit either.
My first ingrown distraction was 2 decades ago during my university. The gross ingrown incident taught me how to fix my own foot because I could not let someone touch my pouting swollen big toe. How could she “that lady” let her toes look like a baseball bat?
Are you thinking to get insurance? Owning car and house will definitely have to deal with insurances, while other insurance concerns usually are done later or sooner. It depends on the person’s choice. Like me, who is thinking about life insurance, I visited one of the insurance companies in my city. If few browse the Internet about cheap term life insurance quotes. While me, have gone straight to insurance office without cost to pay for the consultation. I don’t know if they really charge for the blah blah blahs, they never asked me to pay.
There is one pizzeria in our mall and the owner is nothing as simple as making pizza dough, you order a slice of pepperoni and pop and by the way don’t ask to use the washroom if you’re not buying anything yet. One of the core business ethics of the countries and places I grew up with is “customer is always right”. Yes, anytime you freak out of something in any store particularly about products and sale persons attitude are always taking care of by the concern management.
With all the travels and works, I’ve decided to stay to my new found beloved country, and here you go, I started to feel the pissing. I am very considerate person and I hate to say or ask something when in stores, for the reasons of I’m minding my own business, and I don’t want to trouble others. In our small equipped mall, I know which stores, boutique and restaurants or people who really cared for their customers. I met numbers of fussy store owners and workers than they’re customers. In short, poor customer service is the name. We could not say that we are not going to buy their goods anymore, why not? Because its’ cheaper than others just enough for our budget. So, we choke up our “customer is always right motto”. The poor customer service also the reason why sometimes I shop to high end stores with good services and less high blood pressure of anger.
Back to our pizzeria owner, this morning my curious double terrible son was busy reading all the signs in the mall, including the no smoking sign on the pavement just one foot away from the standing owner of the pizzeria who happened to be smoking while hearing my son says “here’s another no smoking sign”. Do you think the fussy pizza owner make a budge? Not at all, that is why I stopped for quite some time now eating his pizza.
Is the arrival of slate and iPad would make desktop computers obsolete in style? When the laptop hits the shelves, there were no worries to trample desktops. No wonder I bought one and of course computers this time have powerful capacity hard drives too. I have no plans to purchase new computer not even in the next 4 years, but since the slate of HP was introduce last year though not yet in the market, I already drooled, then iPad came. Year by year there are more tech coming and that push me to wait more years to indulge one of the best electronic gadgets. Goodbye Laptop dream! See you later tablet.

My hubby is not Christian and doesn’t know much about Christianity. Since it’s his holiday today due to Good Friday, we have spent our day roaming downtown with the good sun bath. He must be feeling nice not working today even called my friend Chona and greet her “happy” Good Friday. Such a terrible non-Christian husband I have, forgive him for he is really ignorant and innocent about the Day. I gave him the heavy pat on his back and said, Good Friday for Christians is not happy, it’s the saddest day and it runs until Saturday. Of course, he got sermons from me and educating him little about the day “Jesus Christ died”.
I am terribly affected by the change of seasons from spring to summer. I still dream and enjoy its magic, like sunny and no snow. Too much sun, dry atmosphere or balmy, humid or raining, with the love of these beautiful seasons, at the same time I also suffers from dust, pollen, itchy skin when too much sun and with all the sneezing, red nose, runny nose and sometimes fever. In short allergies, it’s not that serious yet with the help of my allergy relief medicines, I stop whining. It’s not happening everyday so what’s the point of ruining the day. When it happens, I’m always ready to topple them.
Our boy knows colors since he was one and something and better now because he is already spending time at school. Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the world. I could say, when I’m wandering around Toronto downtown, I see more of colors than the typical perception of white westerners. What I mean is, in Asia, Asians thought that the USA and Canada are mostly whites. That’s what I thought before coming here.
Most of my son’s classmates are white and brown skins, including him, there is one black but he is mix and fairer than his mother. So black is kind a curiosity for our tot. Today, we had a wonderful sunny day under 25 degrees C, so off we went to the beach. While on the bus, there was one black gentleman sat in front of him. As I said, black is curiosity for him. The trip was pleasant with lots of talking and asking, what would you expect to 4 yrs. old? There was silliness, brilliant and funny questions and the shocking. Like, Mommy your color is ‘white’ right?! That reaction came out after watching attentively to the black passenger sat 1 foot away from his sight. I am very sensitive person when it comes to others, so I covered my son’s mouth and whisper “asked me later at home”. I know that I could discuss that question at that moment, but it’s me who is not comfortable discussing about skin colors especially the one who was sitting in front of us.
How much you can afford for a stroller? Gee, it’s easy if I have money I would definitely buy the pretty, handy and sturdy one and buy the simple not complicated one when have less money. I was little bit shocked reading in the newspaper that there are people who are really spending thousand dollar bucks to one of the best baby strollers. I mean, it doesn’t really matter what’s the value right! As long as you can afford them, another alarming sighting is that, some are hunting these strollers for a cheap deal. Beware! To buy any of cheap supposedly expensive ones, those might be one of the stolen ones. That’s the issue in some other parts of my city.
