I am proud of to be one of the Filipinos. We Filipinos are facing many issues and concerns to be tackled from politics and socio-economic, and the future we faced with. Yes, I am living abroad for ages to work, to live, for my family back home. I suffered many set-backs from home country particularly the issue of corruptions. Well, which country is not corrupt? Yes, we belong to one of the top five of the world’s most corrupt nations. I am not proud of it but I have to accept that it really happened in my country and it’s the fact. Acceptance is one cure to reduce my anger, shame and we Filipinos are working to make it better.
I have met this guy from one of the rich Asian countries. It happened that we walked the same path towards our kids’ school. It is just human nature that we chatted along the way to school. I was not surprised when he said that I am a Filipino. The 15 minutes talking was on and on, then bang! He said “your country is corrupt”, I am guilty as charged. Undeniably, I said “yes I knew and know”. I honestly have said that words without hesitation, in fact proud saying it without thoughts. I mean, what is denying for. Years back, I would take anyone to boxing ring whoever says those real words against my country. Now, I have no more reasons to hide facts that degrade me as Filipino. I had and have to face it, to be honest with it, accept it and worst listen to the fangs of others who are practically saying the truth.
Yes, I am proud that I am one of the Filipinos who contributed to our country’s foreign reserves. This is how I served my nation and hopefully the people who are in power will do their job for us and outside the country will hear at least a good word aside from famous corruption brand. To the rest of the Filipinos who will be exercising their rights to vote and put the right candidate in the right position. Vote wisely, democracy is reachable.

My life now at day time revolved to our kindergarten tot who is now in junior class. That includes saying hi, hellos and expanding friends. One of the kids parent showed up after few snows. I treated this family as one of my closes friends. In fact, I drop off and pick-up their kid together with my son sometime in fall season. But lately, their kid was dropped by others who have cars. That’s reasonable enough since its winter and cold outside walking with me and my tot. I don’t mind and I’m still sincerely willing to drop off and pick up their sweet lovely little girl to and from school.
This morning, when I was chatting with the girl’s father, the father’s greetings to me was “how was the holidays, is there anything new, new husband”? Whaatt !!! Of all the greetings or questions, its sound’s funny, a brutal joke for me and I don’t speak about my marriage. Really, what greeting is that? Then, I said well we could say that because it is common here that marriage will not last longer than many. I don’t even remember flirting or talking to men lately. Well, I did just few seconds with him. What is this with this kind of person? That’s the kind of guy I don’t like to be friend with, he must be thinking that I’m flirting with him. Asshole, I even got married very very late because I don’t know how to wow guys or making cute cute to men. I wear and wore conservative clothes, very conservative. How come!!! Grrrr, he disgusts me.
The transition of formula to cow’s milk is quite difficult to handle especially if the tot is allergic to cow’s milk. Though, we don’t know yet if our son will react with the cow’s milk, we played safe. Formula is expensive. Besides, our son is already 2 and half years old it’s time to wean him from formula. I’m really scared of the possible allergic reaction to cow’s milk, so we opted to give him Soy milk, we fed him at least for a year then the issue about Soya and fertility are ballooning that scares me and hubby. It’s not fully studied yet but we again played safe and nothing’s wrong of our shallow beliefs and nothing to loss anyway. We know that in the future even now there are testosterone boosters that work wonders if he is indeed affected with the Soy milk’s blahs that he consumed for a year. That was the story of Soy milk to cow’s milk swap in a matter of seconds. Good that our boy is not showing any lactose reaction but growing fast.
Thanks for another not complicated day, nothing to worry about except what’s for dinner tonight. Soup and vegetables will do, and salad too. Also, it’s blogging that help me breathe and relax everyday. Without this I’m probably crazy by now, I have been working for ages and suddenly shifts to a full time home bound mommy. There is nothing much to be busy about at home so if my day is close to boringness blogging would fill the emptiness. I don’t like going out and browsing stores except when it’s time for groceries. Besides, I don’t have money for tiny winy shopping spree, may be soon for my birthday. Too bad, I tried to forget that day, in fact for ages now. Dinner now.
Yes, I’m chubby as ever, it’s not fat as my friends said. Most of my friends here are Americans and Europeans so expect that their body built are way different than me, an Asian. Sometimes when we go shopping, I get worried when my clothes are already in size 6 compared to them browsing for sizes 12 to 16. They all said in unison “here we go again the six is complaining”. My normal wardrobe size is 4 and since we just splurged for the last holidays expect the excess weight. I am thankful that I have to walk with my son to his school, back and forth. I supposed it could absorb some of my fats, or let may say my secret fat-burners. Undeniably, it is definitely one of the fat burners for the hate-to-go-the-gym people like me. Living abroad for 11 years now is quite exciting especially if you move from one country to another. I have been crossing borders for work for the last 9 years and now I finally found my stumps and stay foot with my own family. We decided to stay here for good and stop traveling except for holiday trips. Part of our dream is to have our own house and settled. I challenge myself to learn things particularly about house, property taxes, home maintenance and repairs, and insurances. Everything is in order except that I slowly lost the excitement to own a house. Probably it’s because of its built-in expenses aside from the expensive house price. I have no regrets yet because for now all are on the paper waiting to be done. At the moment, I’m busy with our tot, set up his educational savings plan which is already in order, and for the house. Well, watching documentaries about real estate, DIY, renting or renovations are enough to see to keep me on for our dream home.

I have mentioned previously that we will be sending our tot to Early French Immersion class. That would be this coming fall class opening. At school while waiting for my tot, I asked other parents if they are going to send their kids to early French immersion. No one say they will, all of them want to stick to the same school and same English curriculum. But why me, e, a, ummm? Again, I asked they’re reasons, they said, they’re kids speaks Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and Russian at home. So, why not? They want them to start English curriculum first. Really, I don’t know what to say. It did not keep me from changing what we have planned for our son. He is going to early French immersion, while his classmates will do it in the middle grade classes. If the language is they’re reasons then I have all the reasons to send my son to French curriculum since he only speaks English. I am bit worried of our decisions, so I asked and read more info regarding the French curriculum, so far its mostly good in fact better results.
If you see acne, don’t look at it. Don’t speak about it because it’s awkward already to have it. Should it be okay to call goose bump to protruding acne? The last time we had our dinner out was December 30 last year. I and hubby are bored and tired of chicken and chickens. Our boy is already at home with pastas, pizza, vegetable with pasta and bread. We always enjoy Chinese or Thai foods, and today is another Chinese foods. We make it sure that every 15th and 30th of the month are dining out time to break the home foods usual palates. That also gives me time to enjoy the evening without washing dishes and pans, and table to prepare. It’s not a waste of money if you’re not doing it frequently. I mean, there are many out there who dine out for most of their meals. For convenience, or it’s inexpensive to eat outside the kitchen, or may be they don’t know how to cook. There are so many possible reasons to think about, but for a family dining out is way to expensive if frequently enjoyed.
The only thing in the world my Uncle Ben’s needs is a blackhead extractor. I remember watching him pressing his blackheads with his fingers. If blackheads come out his lucky, but if it’s not he’ll get red face and swollen shoulder. I wonder why he got blackheads in the shoulder. I hope this time he got rid off that annoying gross blackheads. I’m not sure if this blackheads extractor will not add pain aside from pressing. Gosh, I have no idea at all. I have low maintenance when it comes to going to Spa. I wish I wish I have money for that.
One of the Universal rights is you can choose your religion. I don’t want to spare time for the religion that go extreme, my concern is the inner and spiritual beliefs of an individual. Why I have to bothered myself? Why tell me that I will not be saved or cannot go to heaven because my religion is like this and that or you are not spiritually committed. What I mean is like half-cook religion, that you can easily spell out the name of your religion but you are not doing its doctrine. Very well, for me if my religion bothers them, then my personal relationship with God is something no one can judge, right! See, I’d rather live with the people who have religion but do not practice strictly and live the life in free flow without hurting and disturbing others. Next time when someone ask me what is my religion, I would definitely say I’m an atheist.
Who wants to have wrinkles? Not me, definitely no one if it’s possible. So if there is any way to slow down the process of aging, go for it. I mean, I should go for it as long as it’s not expensive. Like limit our exposure to sun not to the point that sun will not shine on you, like forever. Is that possible? It is such a terrible question. Apply moisturizer and keep hydrated more liquids and may be the used of the wonder wand the anti wrinkle serum. I hope it’s not expensive, I could not see any wrinkles on my face yet, I’m bit chubby and my skin it still tight and I used moisturizer for ages now.
Studying French language in school is a requirement. Parents have options when to begin, at early years in school, middle or later before they finish there grade 12. In short, whether you like it or not you have to study French. So I choose to let my son study French on early years at least 4 years until grade 3. I had conversations to my tot’s teacher and particularly to three boys in grade 5. My son’s teacher fully appreciates my idea to send my son to early French immersion than later, but of course I have all the decisions. Then, while walking back from school with my son, I called the attention of these three boys who also walked home always and with us sometimes. They all started the French subject in the middle school like in grade 4. Two boys said that they have good grades in the subject even they study bit later, the third boy says, I hate French subject, he is actually going on French immersion in the fall. In unison we told him good luck, in a taunting sound.
The words of the third boy actually knocks me out, it’s like pushing me to pursue French curriculum for my tot when he is still young and reduce the pressure of saying “I hate French subject” on later dates. That is, he argue less today than later. Now or later, I will face this question I better follow the school suggestion and go with the flow. French curriculum it is.
If given an extra stuffed wallet to spend on my own, I will definitely spend it for Medicare supplement insurance or dental insurance. Yes, our health is subsidize but not to the extent that you will not pay anything. Dental expenses definitely out from our pockets. Sometimes I would say if there is any way that we will not get sick or we can but only in the Philippines because it’s cheaper than here. I know that many as well are praying not to get sick, it’s not for the money, and it’s our lifestyle that we want to stay fit and healthy, definitely. The reality is we have to face things that we dreaded to experience.
Tik tak tik tok it’s time for a holiday. The plan to visit one of Asia’s nations is rolled back to its scroll. We have decided to visit Rome or Cuba. This is a very short vacation just to get away with household and work pressures. This would be our first ever vacation together, we have had vacations before but in separate countries and of course the tot is always with me. He started he’s first trip when he was six months old to the Philippines, Thailand his birthplace, Hongkong, the U.S.A, Alaska and now in Canada. I love traveling mostly back packer‘s style, sight seeing and see other parts of the world. It’s one of the reasons why I saved money. That is why I could not dare to buy a car because when I started counting the insurance fees, maintenance and gas. I always compare the costs of a holiday escapade and the money thrown away mainly because of accessibility in a jiffy.

My love and hate to the exchange rates. My petty small mini cash earned from one of the Internet businesses is in green buck. Since, I’m in Canada and want to earn extra bit dime, most of the time I favored lower CAD $. Come on man, that’s business you know exchange rates differential thingy. The other side of the country, I also wanted dearly to appreciate the value of CAD $ against the Philippine peso, so that my money transfer will be hefty in the hands of my mother. Heesszzz, exchange rate business wins more loss more.
This coming July my brother-in-law is getting married. If you’re familiar with the South Asian marriage then I supposed you know how special the day is. We have thoughts of going to the expense of our limited savings and/or may be we will pass this time. Tickets for three, dresses and tuxedos for my boys that’s expensive. We hope that they would understand and better enjoy our savings for something reasonable expenditures.
We never run out of holidays and events, so as our greetings. I missed to greet you all “HAPPY HOLIDAYS“, happy three kings the day we used to mark the end of Christmas and it’s time to put away all the Christmas decors and open the unopened presents. Bear with me because today is another greeting day, HAPPY EPIPHANY. Have they missed giving you any presents last Christmas Day or on the Boxing Day, at least may be there is something for you today. It reminds me years ago there are many religious groups and fanatics said that the world will end, the Nostradamus and even movies showed many circumstances how the world will end until our last breath. If you could hear the words of the religious superstitious or signs, your hair will stand in and you only have few days or time to pray to save your soul. Most of these predictions are asking us to pray to God for eternal salvation. I have seen crosses all over the walls of many houses, blessed candles in particular colors, and all the possible symbols that saved the believers.
Science also laid their thoughts based on measurable variables that we all are aware of. Ozone layer, emissions, pollution, population, non renewable resources and even the sky laboratory explosion also caused stirred to many who believe that the world will end. Until now I still could not explained the facts and theories of how to end the world or what causes the planet earth to explode like egg in the microwave. I tried the latter and it was a messed. Though, I totally agree that earth will deteriorate, environmentally unfriendly and will not be able to give us life after our massive usage of its natural resources. I’m not an atheist either.
Hooray! Year 2010, another promise is made to be broken. Well, not all promises made last year were broken, little by little and slowly but surely. Since, I stay at home twenty four seven, all I had planned was brightening up our small living area. I only purchased one standing lamp and drooling to all light fixtures on sale during the holidays. We have had little cash for the holidays and we also have to contribute for our tot’s educational plan. What a bummer? But it’s a worthy plan.
