Hopefully Job That Knocks
2 Comments Published by lispeth on Tuesday, 29 December, 2009 at 11:49 PM.Almost one year now since I’ve stopped applying jobs. I have reached to the point that job searching was over, economy was turning negative, job applications were rarely checked, I had all the impossible thoughts, but mostly blamed to myself that I am not lucky enough to land one. Surrender is the name that was solely for job searching but determined to learn. I mean, learned as in continuing education. There, I said it. I have enrolled myself to one of the best colleges in Canada. It’s only six months course and in fact I am done schooling except that I have to pass two tests to get the license. Man, this is terrible I already felt I am about to be hung on to the cross. My agony to study the reading materials is now nailing me slowly.
I don’t just blog about jobs in finance, I do have better ideas and ways to gain access to finance world. I am not bluffing, I’m really doing it. I have finished studying the Canadian Securities Course, to better understand the securities systems, its operations and benefit to the financial management, and of course the fundamentals of the investors. Though the course covers only few basics, but it is a good start to begin understanding the vague financial web. I hope this could be my first ramp to get in to one of the financial jobs.
The last Black Friday madness was enjoyed with a Christmas tree purchased on discount by 70%. It was the usual green ones and 6.5 foot tall and still bare. Yes, there is nothing on it yet, just a Christmas tree standing in the middle of our small living room. Where are the knickknacks, it’s almost Christmas? I’m still waiting dearly for another 70% sale for all Christmas decorations. This week sale is only 40%, I am hoping for more price drop. My Christmas tree will likely show its shines after Christmas Day, it may sound funny but I do believe that Christmas is everyday. Ha ha ha ha he he he he.
Laugh it loud if you can. Last Wednesday was our first ever winter snow fall with rain, it was terrible to walk, splash splash in the slushy road. My suede boot were soaked and of course all the way to my toes. Oh my gosh! Where’s the great boot, leather one, knee long, light and warm. I miss Australia, my dingo shoes and my leather boots purchased from one of the equestrian apparel stores. Our winter in Canada is bit harsh. Right now I need a rubber boot with good insulating material.
We are living nearby the mall, supermarkets, churches, schools, clinics and hospital. So expect that most of our daily needs are acquired on foot easily back and forth. Transportation cost is not an issue, except when going downtown and hubby’s fares to work. I have the biggest personal fordable trolley. Shopping and groceries are way easy and handy except today until the last day the snow melted. I could not push the trolley and expect that I have to carry all the groceries. Man, it’s really heavy and my back is aching, I hope my savings of zero transportation costs will pay the pain. What did you say? Buy a car? Nope, it’s expensive, bad to the environment. I’m scared to drive though I have a driver’s license and other bad factors of having a car. Public transport in Canada is excellent, so why waste money for a car. At least 700 dollars a month to spare for a car, shut up, I could saved that money and travel every year, which I’m addicted to do.
It is winter season in the northern hemisphere and of course snow is inevitable, abundant and frequent. Did you forget something? And the first thing in your mind is driving your motorcycle in the middle of first snow fall and raining. The roads are slushy, flurry and slippery, and suddenly, blag! An accident, cross my fingers there is nothing happen like that. I just have a morbid imagination. If ever that thing happens, the pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney is always there to help. I had a bad shoe accident yesterday walking on the slushy watery road with my tot going to his school. Just for 30 minutes on wet shoe and socks, I almost lost my balance walking with numb feet. How much more to any worst accident happens because of snow? Be careful guys.
The first snow fall in winter accompanied with rain. Man, my shoes got soaked deep dunked to icy water. It was half-way between our apartment and my son’s school, it’s too late to go back and change, I could feel my toes are tingling and numb. I got a suede winter boot and this time it’s unfortunate to feel the sharp fangs of cold winter. First time for the last 3 winters I felt it, its negative degrees outside and I continue walking towards home. Then, I saw an elderly pushing and pulling her huge garbage and recycle bins stuck in the snow. I always have a soft heart and expect that I pulled all the bins from the curved and placed it to her garage. Oh yah! My feet were all numbed, no more tingles and crazy me, I offered to shovel her pathway for her to move easy. God is watching, she said, oh dear thank you so much and someone is coming to shovel the snow. O, okay, your welcome, byeeee and march I went walking too slowly I could not lift my foot, hypothermia is really dangerous.
I wish, I wish! This time of the year, I could only wish to go somewhere for a winter vacation to get away with the winter chill just for few days. As I said, I am wishing against wish, we are little short of cash this month and it’s time to contribute for my son’s annual educational plan. I know that we could divert the used of money to enjoy the holidays and to do so is stupid enough. May be one day, one of the disneyland packages will be enjoyed, my tot will definitely love it, he has no idea yet that this place exist. Another thing, going to Disneyland particularly in Florida is not quite good if not visiting my sister just an hour drive. That means I need money, money and money.
Gee, the holiday sales are wa-a-a-ay too close to the secret pocket that keeps my dime. Enticing it is bargains are swarming like bees trying to push you into the hive of shopping ecstasy. Ha ha ha ha, did I tell something like a sugar coated ads? Nope, not at all. I’m just sharing my drools while roaming around the mall killing the time while waiting for my son who are in school. Why the school is too close to the mall? I could always go home and wait for the pick-up time. But come-on, sometimes we need a break. If you happen to have limited budget for this month, then hold your horses este purses, and stay home if you have no self-indulging control.
I’m counting the days now through Christmas Day. There is no present to open except for my son which he is excited about for days now. I hope that there will be something new or different good things to happen in this holiday. I mean, it’s been a decade now since I left the Philippines where Christmas is as jolly as fiesta everyday. In my neighborhood, I could still picture Christmas Eve with my relatives and friends playing cards on a big ping pong table and billiard, ringing the microphone singing the karaoke and food feast while waiting for Christmas Day. This year’s Christmas is quite as usual same as every year for the last 11 years away from home.
We know that we are doing our best for the environmental. Many are lobbying ideas, views and ways how to fix part of our already damaged mother earth. The economic revolution, scientific discoveries and all finished material things that made us happy have created an environmental after- effect monster. To name them all are too many, though floods, landslide and drought that causes famine to our brothers and sisters are the common occurrence. I did my part and best to help, to mention the few, I recycled recyclable stuff, re-used plastic bags if there’s any but I have plenty of reusable shopping bags, I’m an energy and water saver freak, I used the public transport, I indulged left over foods until the last morsel but you could avoid it by cooking what you could finish in one-or up to-two meal times. Give your old stuff to charity than shoving them to the bin then to the landfill. There are many ways how to contribute our part for the environment. From me to you and to the rest of the world, it would make a difference. Gracious may, I don’t want to live like what I have seen from the wall-e movie. I want to see life. What I’m dreaming now is to walk on tile or wood floors. I got tired of the not so smooth carpet in my apartment. It would take awhile or ages for me to realize my dream floors that would mean we have to move to another place or buy our own home. The latter is such a paradise to think. Well, that’s our major goal and it will happen one day soon.
It’s the first time for almost four decades of no snow show in November. That’s too long to see changes, nothing else to blame but the climate change. I hope that the great nations who are now pleading and heeding each others brilliant ideas for the better of our mother earth will reach prosperous remedies. At the other side of the globe, finally, Toronto got its share of white winter. My wish of no snow for another week is way too much to ask. Snow, snow and snow here you come. Our first snow of winter this year, don’t get me wrong, I love snow.
It’s not time to buy another computer. I’m still enjoying my almost two years old high capacity lovey-dovey computer of mine. One day, it will come with the latest or may be even the improve touch screen laptop. Since, I have this good big desktop computer now, I will make used of it until it will surrender. This is my ever first brand new computer and I will keep on using it until it says it’s over. I had couple of computers before, one is hand me down and the other was second hand.
Busy busy busy. Not for the Christmas holidays but for my securities license. Ha ha ha in unison, my friends are laughing. They said they could hire me to guard their houses without a license. Then, I laugh and said its securities for banking and investing. Man, they continue the topic, and said, indeed the bank needs a security. The holy grail of investing is not a good topic for the night. Though, they all have pension plans.
I was humming it before. What about, about the free online backup that I am very thankful for. Imagine I have more than one thousand articles and all of them are available 24/7 whenever I wanted them, and shared to anyone whose interest is like mine. Wow, isn’t it great! I bet it is very convenient to the people who are working in mass communication because they could access their articles and stuff online anytime for free.
