Living in Thailand for five years could definitely help you master the taste of one of your favorite dishes. Well, that was years ago. Now, we are living far from Thailand, we missed everything so much especially food. Who would argue with the Thai exotic taste of cuisine? For our dinner, I prepared Thai red curry noodles, man! It smells and tastes perfectly Thailand cooking.
My son’s photos from its school authorized photographers were excellent. It was his first school photos, and my first decent photos of him taken by the pro photographers. Though the prices are bit high, I ordered quite many copies since it only happens once a year or every school year. Memories and picture moments of today will last forever, I would say and the cost is worth nothing when job is well done. I totally appreciate the effort and expertise of the photographers. They are as good as the Naples photographer. If you haven’t seen any photos taken by the Naples photographer, I think its time for you to see the difference of the pictures you’ve taken and compared it with the pro.
So?! When are you going to visit our city? Obviously the season is fall, indeed the leaves are falling. It is amazing how pretty the vicinity with all the colored leaves on the trees and grounds. For almost a week now, sun shine is shy and falling leaves remained on the ground with their crisp fresh colors. If the sun’s come out the color of those leaves on the ground will likely turn to brown, luckily it did not. Not yet, because I’m still enjoying my everyday stroll to my son’s school, going back and forth. It is really beautiful, I hope it will not rain tomorrow and hopefully we could stroll to other park crowded with trees.
There is nothing in my mind about Newark but the big airport. My trip back home from the U.S.A had stopped over at the Newark, New Jersey International Airport. The picturesque outside the airport was great, I bet the entire City is way better to enjoy than just browsing within the airport vicinity. I do have some acquaintance friends in New Jersey. They said that it’s the best place to live if working within New York or other nearest booming cities. Newark Job Search must be easy to find, since the city itself is big. Job, job, job! When I am going to have one?
Since the school started, I as well have gone to school back and forth to drop off and picked up my son. Naturally, it is obvious that we also developed a good communication and rapports to kid’s parents. This is especially if your living in the same place, walk at the same time to school and more interactions because the kids were walking with are in the same class, teacher and time. I have been walking with the two parents, who are not in the same country but both speak the same language (their other countries before they immigrated to Canada).
We become friends, and most of the time I felt annoyed because they are speaking not English at all. Parent 1 always speaks English since she was here at the age of 8. While, parent 2 who lives in the country for 10 years now speaks the foreign Language which she conversely spoke like normal with my presence. I have met this type of person before when I was in Bangkok, same nationalities, same educated but bad manners always prevails. No etiquette is the word. So I keep quite most of the time and walk home with parent 1 always, and avoid parent 2.
This is one of the topics that I will not run away. I have thoughts even had couple of times consulting with a financial adviser regarding term life insurance, right now I just could not afford the premium. Right on the spot you will know the scheme since term life insurance quotes are always handy for them to manipulate. For me, this is the most practical thing to do especially when we don’t have savings for unforeseen circumstances particularly that deals life and family.
Under the rain, I walked from Value Village then to the Mall. Roaming and scoured every hanger hoping that I could find the suitable costumes for my everyday asking tot “if it is Halloween today“. Everyday he asked, since he saw the Halloween decors of our Condo lobby. I totally lost my luck to find a costume, home I went and asked my son to fit the last year's tiger costume. Hooray! It fits though it’s shorter by 2-3 inches. He has grown so fast that he is almost going to school this Friday by just wearing a tiger make up. I could do something for the short inches, and I will try my best to have a blast on his make up. It is so great, that this year I only spent 2.99$ for his halloween fun, the cost of the make up because his tiger costume from last year still fits.
holiday gifts, the only things in this world that I will not be worried about. My boys just had their birthdays and presents. My son will have a present every Friday for good behavior in school as I promised, to keep me away from the teacher fumes explaining about his silly behavior towards his classmates. If silliness prevails? You just guess the prize of being naughty. So far, I have survived for almost 3 weeks now that he is not making any mischief. I feel great and my tot also feel Christmas and birthday every week because of present like holiday gifts.
Yes, these were the words from my hubby. He was born to one of the South Asian countries, from a conservative family whose culture and tradition are mostly religious bound. Halloween in his country is heard but not sensationalized to ugly horrible scary mask, princess, Barbie or GI Joe, bunnies and other commercialize costumes. They don’t have All Saints and All Soul’s Day, so he could not picture the idea of Halloween. Anyway, I explained the beginning of the Halloween and how it become so popular that we almost forget about the day after the Halloween, because our mind is so focus of the Halloween itself.
The year 2009 is almost over and expects that you will not be hunting the best price in town because almost price had gone down since the recession, worst this time of the year. Worst that is bad for the business but good to the consumer’s budget. I already enjoyed some of them. I’m not really a shopaholic type, I am more of a thrifty type, but I do buy some for my son’s needs especially for school used. This year I’m eying for a new HDTV or camera, if I could not get them? May be next year, and with the extra tv stand if I will get an HDTV, I hope it’s free that comes with the TV. I get used for free extra when you buy something expensive, because our first TV goes with free TV stand. What a bonus?
Bhoooooo, is the sound of Halloween when you want to scare someone. Are you scared? Not at all! This Friday is the last day of School before the Halloween, most of the school children will be dressing up for the spooky classes just for fun. I don’t let my son wear the scary, bloody or super ugly mask, may be no one will sit beside him in school. Or worst, the teacher will get angry of me, ha ha ha, bugger me. Actually, I could not find any suitable or not scary costume. I’m such a bum too lazy to scour 2 weeks ago before Friday’s dress up. Now, nothing left but mostly for girls and some for boys but the ugly once. Wait and see on Friday, you will be surprised.
I don’t think for now I need extra hard drives for my computer. I don’t need much of software’s or programs, I’m no computer geek, and I don’t challenge myself to explore more about computer. I’m too lazy to explore something new, blogging, reading newspapers through the Internet, chatting with my family and friends, writing articles and saving family pictures. These are the things that I enjoyed tweaking with my computer. I still have enough memory space and more drives available.
My four-year old tot had his first field trip, one of school’s activities to the Forsythe Family Farm. It’s this time of the year when kindergartens are out to see the pumpkins and its life cycle, pampering and feeding animals. I’m just imagining what have happened in the farm because I was not able to come. Volunteering was called but I have to have my own ride, which I don’t have. I missed the great picture moments, but since its part of the school activities. I just leave it that way. At least, he got his pumpkin share and oozing delights about the trip. Man! It took me years and years, in fact my University time when I was allowed to participate in field trips. Thinking about field trips, it hurts me so much since it only happened once in seldom of sometimes. So protective parents, now I’m having my lifetime trip to Canada leaving my beloved parents in the Philippines. I told them that I will be enjoying my field trip for a long time.
Would you like to see the autumn of Canada? I bet you wish long time ago. It is gorgeous during this season, the colors of the atmosphere is not comparable to the shades of the rainbow. If you have days and comfortable ride like one of the RVs, it’s the right time to head to the countryside and enjoy the autumn ride. I been drooling to do the RV trip, but luck seems slippery this time. But hey! Before hopping to RV ride make it sure that rv insurance and other documents are properly check, or else you will be like Robin Williams RV disaster.
Yesterday was the most challenging day of the year for me. My son just recovers from a bad flu that lingers in his body for more than a week. He is fine now and the flu bug hits me with harsh cold and cough. I passed out yesterday morning luckily my hubby was around though busy preparing for his work. Few hours after the not so cool circumstances, the hubby has gone to work and I was left with the energetic hungry again tot who just recovered from flu. He asked for cake, watermelon and onion rings. He may sounds like pregnant woman who craves for food. But that's how I heard it, he bugs and bugs me on my sick bed. I am feverish, light, with runny nose and coughing. Take note, I just recovered from passing out.
Come on, march we went to the nearest mall, near when I’m healthy to walk, but it seems too far for me in this present state. I am really weak. I just hope that I will not pass out in the middle of the traffic light. What will happen to this hungry tot in tow? I felt that we were rushing to buy things. Unfortunately, I was walking very slowly inside the supermarket. Counting my steps not to fall, I must be crazy going out after having a bad fall. But if you could hear the plea of a hungry tot who just recovered from dreadful one week flu, you might as well run and stuffed them the food they like most. I have not seen Qays eaten so much food for the last 6 days than yesterday. He ate and ate until he gets stuffed and falling to sleep. His appetite really came back.
Ahhh, my elementary school days is still fresh in my mind. The nutri-ban that was so cheap and big to chow down by a grade 2 pupil. Dried corn kernels fry in oil and spice, banana fritters and naughty classmates. He he he and oh! One more thing, a personal classroom chair, many of the pupils were asked to bring they’re own chairs to school. We have these typical school desks only for 40 pupils. But when enrollments increased, the rest of the pupils will have to carry they’re own chairs. That is why our classroom chairs during my elementary days, were in different styles, designs and mostly with personal touch on it. The funny thing is when we moved to another grade, we had to take our chairs with us. Ha ha ha ha! I lost my chair when I was in grade 4, I don’t know where it goes. Bring your own chair is still live and many pupils now when attending grade one is not surprise to be asked one. Now, this is mostly practice in over crowded schools and in public schools.
Mama Mia! It’s fantastic, you’re going to have stitches through you’re ears, kicking and punching pillows. If you are watching on you’re bed. I hardly see the previous seasons and episodes of Ugly Betty. It’s just happen that I click on the right channel today. That means this is my first view of the Ugly Betty the talk of the world. Now that I started watching this new Betty syndrome, I should better finish this until the end of the season. My two hours was worth not wasted, okay. Besides, I am exempted of doing something else at home, me sooo sick, and staying on bed enjoying Betty was quite a break a leg rest. See, I already infused myself to the Betty virus, I don’t like it to end, and sadly it ends.
These words never passed without a scar in my family’s problem years ago. It was one of my uncles who enjoyed the company of narcotic drugs. We knew at the very instant that who ever used these drugs is summoning hazards physically, mentally, to families and friends. It took time for my grandparents to send my uncle to the drug rehab, but eventually he was admitted. For now, he is very healthy, happy and helpful to the family, while his friends, two died in the mental hospital, one committed suicide. Yes, all of his friends have passed away, and he is still with us. Our family is very grateful to the drug rehab program.
Don’t you think the world forget about Osama bin Laden? I am still thinking where he was or where he is right now? The person and by just speaking his name already terrorized the world. Who is really the culprit of this war? Bush the former U.S president or Osama bin Laden? Nobody could guess and there is no guessing in this case because I would be disappointed. Why? It is because many lives are affected and some turn out worst and dead.
Now, you dare to read about Osama bin Laden’s biography that he also act like a human being and not like others who pictured him as evil. I know him now that he is causing the world to turn up side down, mentally, economy and trust. Aren’t the good who highly publicized that Osama is the culprit of terrorism should do the job? You started it, you finished it. I would love to read about Osama bin Laden in hiding, sick or worst dead, and not this soft side of his being rational. I may not act like human in this post, but hey! They are talking about the most hated person in the universe. Don’t give him a chance, discard him.
Who do you think would like to hear any serious disease? No one at all, unfortunately sometimes we are not spared to see how our families, relatives, friends or neighbors health issues. Speaking of malignant Mesothelioma, my dearest friend father died because of this. He got a weak lungs but breathing every tendril of their asbestos field ceiling. I still remember that my friend bragged about their asbestos field ceiling and that it was resistant to fire, great! Later we know that his father was also slowly eaten by the deadly material. The asbestos is not the cause of his defected lungs but only triggered a serious disease.
The amazing, spooky and ordeals. First six, is in Melbourne, Australia to one of their train stations where 6 months old baby on the stroller roll over and fell to the train tracks and run over by a train. Do not worry the baby is alright and healthy, thought the worst? Well, it will never happen. God is watching. Secondly, is the 6 years old boy who were thought inside the small flying balloon created by his father. Police, ambulance and press must be beating they’re hearts not to see the worst accident cause by parent negligence. I could not even imagine if it was true, gracious may! Is he going to live? Focus, focus! The boy is alive apparently in the attic hiding. While the rest of the world wondering where he was. Forgiven! And be safe kid. The parents may pay for public disturbance.
So, people if your planning to surprise the masses, cool or uncool make it sure you will not be charged. This is life. You may be the victim, witness or spectators.
Our son was sick for 5 days. I am a worried mother hen. I did not shut my eyes for couple of hours at night time. My hubby is horrible when it comes to taking care of a sick person, even his own son. He is totally clueless and no initiative of what to do. What he is good at is only working and making money. That’s fair enough I suppose. Gracious, I got these terrible eye dark circles. It’s not really big like black eye but may be bad to look at by others. I could always fix it using the magic cream, whew! Vanity, vanity.
I and my tot had just recovered the streak of seasonal flu. Fever, sneezing, coughing and head ache of course, my tot is thin now, he is not eating properly, did not attended classes for the whole week. He is okay now. Still I could not send him to school, to reduce dissemination. The poor hubby just called from the office and said that he got our flu, no wonder it’s not with us. He is a hard headed sick man, ever since our marriage, when he get sick he never take medicines, I have to watch him taking one or two. So, my answered to his call, “what can I do, even when I’m with you, you never take medicine, so no point of calling”. I may be a bad wife to these words, but this is the only way that he would listen, reverse psychology. Sometimes I would say “if you’re not taking medicine when you’re sick, you better die right away to reduce my burden”. Then, he end up laughing.
Have you read somewhere that your pimples will get worse, mostly to acne? I have been sick for days now, lying down on bed and missed cleaning my face at night time. I have one pimple on my neck and now it gets worse may be because it reacts to my tossing and moving on my pillows with oily skin. I had a good shower this morning, gosh! I’m still dizzy, sneezing and coughing. It’s not swine flu of course, just a seasonal flu. Got this from my tot, who is now absent to his JK class for a week now. I do not have an acne treatment but I do have cream to reduce the redness of my pimples. I hope it will work wonders, acne is not really in my blood, but sometimes when pimples get irritated, acne should be the name right!
My son never ever touches his runny nose when sniffles hit. All he did was shooouuutt, and say “kakook”, it means cockroach in his nose. Few weeks now attending school, after experiencing the weirdo’s of other tots, he begun to inherit the picking of nose. Imagine now, what am I shouting about. I got crazy watching him picking his runny nose with his two fingers. Gracious may! Where is the kakook squeal, it’s gone. He learns to clean himself but in a gross way.
Wow! An oral acne treatment, Acneticin is here. This is good for me, because most of the over the counter acne treatment that I bought, it ends up in the bin. Why? Well, it only swells my face particularly the spots where I dub my acne cream. Tsk, tsk! Gee, I hope it will not bruise my stomach, since my over the counter acne treatment gives me worst reaction after application. I guess, seeing the doctor before taking the Acneticin is better to do.
It seems that the pattern of snowing right after Thanksgiving Day is true. I have been spending 3-Thanksgivings in my new found beloved country and each year before or after the Day of celebration, the atmosphere signal Christmas colors. We had pellets of snow the other day. It could be the sign of white autumn. We did not enjoy the last streaks of sun in the past few days, my son and I are sick until now. Gosh! I’m too sick to cook but too energize to buzz about my day.
The hubby is dreaming to own a car particularly the truck like one of the Chevies. All I got was a deafening laughter. Because since we moved to this country he could not even pass the drivers permit to drive. Ha ha ha! Pssssshhhh! He is right here beside me. I also like truck but it’s good for farm use or for business. My hubby must be drooling of the truck accessories which are very enticing. At the moment we are deciding which car to buy for me to drive, poor him! I got the license to drive and he does not. So, since I’m driving I should choose which car I like. Fair enough right! As the driver.

When thinking about Thanksgiving Day, what is in my mind? There’s the roast turkey, cranberries and pumpkin pie. We did not prepare these sumptuous meals for the Day, we had an ordinary day, and thankful to God for all the blessings we had and have. Our tot is sick today but healthy I would say, it is just a fickle fever and slight cough. I have plans to go to the daily food bank to volunteer, helping the community to serve the most in need in this time of giving. But since my hubby is the most unbelievable creature when it comes to taking care of the sick. So, I have to stay and take care of our tot. I could volunteer in some days when everybody at home is okay. As we say “charity begins at home”.

Holy tortillas! The Mazatlan Mexico holiday escapade is like bubbling champagne in a crystal flute. My, oh my! I don’t want to wish this place to appear in my dream. I have to plan the trip to mazatlan mexico. Amazing, fantastic! But not right now, we had our amazing vacation in Florida this year. Now, we started saving for our 2011 trip to Asia, it is coming soon with the sun, sand, beaches, family and relatives. Well, Mexico is one of my planned countries to visit during winter, so bad it has to wait.
My continuing education class for Canadian Securities Course will soon to end and now I am worried for my second test. I have passed the first half of the test, now I will try my extra extra best to pass the second test to get my desired license. I am ready and kicking my butt to arrange an interview, I have some secret prospects. Keep my fingers cross at the same time worried because I don’t know where to put my tot if ever I will get a job. I could not ask my hubby to help me with the day care. Since his office is very far from the Condo and our tot’s school.
I so miss our Orlando and Panama City vacations. It’s getting colder and freezing in Toronto right now. Advertisements for off season holiday are peaking of to fantastic deals. Oh my! Oh my, why now when my kid has classes and hubby spent most our savings going home. Shezzz! I’m drooling of a little bit sun, warm and humidity. Any of these orlando vacations is great. We could drive to the Panama City and about 45 minutes to my sister’s house. Mannn slap me! I’m dreaming again.
In my twenties, I was working in the highlands in one of the Asia’s rich minorities as a social community worker. It was purely a livelihood extension program for the minority communities than anything else. The people I served with were the simplest groups of people I have ever met. We generally discuss about farming, health and income generation. Teenagers, their parents and grandparents were part of the groups, we all see life as survival and food is one of the issues. The poor communities think about food first, education and clothing but the former and the latter comes very weak as an issue to tackle with. Why? It was because many of the young kids and teenagers have stopped schooling helping their parents in the farm and for other livelihood to survive a day or two.
There, I barely seen teens, elders, women and men showed wariness about their physical appearances particularly wrinkles, pimple treatments or how do they smell. I don’t even want to bother cleaning my face and brushing my teeth before going to bed, since the ladies who have shared their sleeping space with me seem showed nothing about vanity. If cleanliness is your issues, you can think whatever it is. I am sure, I was not able to even think or do something about it but live with the flow. Social development extension job is not an easy tasked, but seeing the communities survived the simplest way their lives was - are unimaginable. I lived in many big cities for almost and the rest of my life, that is why I have a great respect and misses the life I enjoyed for seven years with seldom of sometime occasional luxuries.
I hate to admit that one day soon I will be scouring to one of the aisles that sale the best wrinkle cream. Keep my fingers cross and hoping I will stumble to the right wrinkle cream for my skin. I know I live in the world where growing old is not an issue but rather shows great leaps of life. I am not afraid to get wrinkly one of these days, but if we could do something to slow down the process of aging, why not? Why is it that having wrinkles are such a shyly inducer? I am talking about my elder friends who meticulously hide the fact of being born early. I do think about it for myself, how will I react when time comes that the dreaded crumpled like skin will slowly creep to my very skin? May be if I live in the mountain where vanity is not an issue, I will be okay.
